Trois Glorieuses Wine Festival

The annual Trois Glorieuses Wine Festival hosts a weekend event including tastings and a wine auction in aid of the Hospices de Beaune. One of the biggest and most popular events of its kind in the region, the festival always attracts a large crowd and some very generous bidders. The auctioneer is usually a guest personality and a jovial atmosphere prevails throughout the weekend. The auction concludes with a great candlelit dinner in the medieval surroundings of the stronghold of the Hotel-Dieu. The event dates back to 1859 with the first auction raising nearly 20,000 francs.
